Year of the Dragon

Year of the Dragon was released in August 2000 with 110 cards and the identifier is a dragon head in the upper right corner. In 1996, Daedalus ceased publishing Shadowfist. In 2000, the Chinese year of the Dragon, Zev Schlasinger's Z-Man Games revived the game. Rather re-issue any of the old works, Z-Man released what amounts to a new base set in Year of the Dragon, made up of five 50-card starter card decks, one for each of the original main factions. Starter decks exist for the Architects, Ascended, Dragons, Eaters of the Lotus, and Guilding Hand. The decks mainly contain previously released cards with a few new cards in each starter deck. The decks themselves are pre-constructed and play well out of the box. A cleaned-up rulebook, which clarified many of the rules of the game, was also included. Year of the Dragon is well-suited for sealed-deck tournaments and helping new players get into the game.
